"Mission Homes" are old vacant homes that are repaired and renovated to provide quality rental opportunities and pathways to homeownership. These homes are made possible through partnerships with other nonprofits, local churches, faith-based social service agencies, Louisville Metro government, and organizations focused on housing and community development.
In 2019, Promise Housing Plus completed its first Mission Home. This home was initially rented to a family from Louisville's West End. After one year as renters, that family was able to transition into homeownership. Since then, we’ve been fortunate to complete three additional homes over the past three years, starting each one as rental properties for individuals and families. Additionally, we’ve assisted numerous homeowners in our community with home renovations. These efforts continue to transform lives and move us forward—one job, one home, one family at a time. Our work in Louisville’s West End continues with the renovation of our fourth Mission Home. Soon, another family will have a safe, stable place to call their own.
